Fried Round Steak And Smashed Potatoes

I have turned over a new leaf. I am going to start cooking more. If y'all knew how much I actually cooked, you would quit following my blog and declare me as the worse wife/mother IN THE WORLD! Seriously, I never cook. But, I am changing my ways!

To be honest, I am very self-conscious about my cooking. I have never thought I was a good cook and no wonder... I never cook! You would be ashamed of me :( I never want to cook for anyone because I am afraid that they will think my food is awful. I am going to try and get over that. Practice makes perfect! So get ready my friends, I may just be having y'all over for dinner real soon!

This 'ole gal is gonna' start cookin'! Have any of you ever heard of the Pioneer Woman? Well if you haven't, you need to! She has the most awesome blog about cooking EVER! I mean seriously! She has inspired me. The Bible has also inspired me because I mean Biblically a girls supposed to cook for her man, right? (see Proverbs 31 for more info:))

So here we go, a post about our dinner tonight. And I also took pictures! I love food photography!(I am sure that you are so looking forward to this!Ha!

I cooked fried round steak and restaurant-style smashed potatoes.

I know what you are thinking, round steak is, like, um...nasty?
I thought it was too! (I actually thought that round steak was
another name for bologna. Please, don't ask!) But let me tell ya!
It was delicious!

I rolled it in flour.

Fried it. Yum!

Now, on to the smashed potatoes.
The recipe calls for red potatoes but I just used Russet because
I didn't want to buy anything special :).

Chop up some green onions.

Add some french fried onions.

Smash the potatoes with a potato masher.

Put all the ingredients into the bowl.

Stir and enjoy! (As you can tell, I am a very messy stirrer!)
You all will probably been seeing some more food posts so get ready! And please bare with me because I new to this whole thing! And also, if you have a great recipe, I would love to hear about it.

This little girl was ready for some of Mama's cookin'!

Weight Loss Wednesday

Here we go again! It's Weight Loss Wednesday time once again. I have been busy, busy last week and this week running here and there and cleaning. I have spring cleaned our bedroom, the kitchen, Trinity's room, and I am almost finished with the living room! Wa hoo! All I have left is the guest bathroom and then Steven's study, but he is going to be the one doing most of the work on his study! I will be so glad to be finished.

Doing all that work didn't leave much time for food, which is great! I need to start keeping myself busier so that I don't think about food so much.

Yesterday, I started ... exercising... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I'm not doing much but it's better than nothing, that's for sure!

I am going to be weighing on Mondays this time and then just posting about it on Wednesdays.

Here are the numbers....

Weight loss this week: 3.6 lbs.

Weight loss total: 3.6 lbs.

I couldn't believe it when I saw that I had lost 3.6 lbs! Praise the Lord! Maybe I'll keep it up!

Trinity Is 15 Months!

Trinity is 15 months old! I usually have the usual, "Wow! I can't believe she is already 15 months old!" post but not this time. It seems like she was 14 months forever! She has grown a lot lately and she has gotten a lot more teeth. And she has had no problems cutting them, which is a huge blessing!

There ain't much new to say this month either. Her hair has grown a lot. I put it in pig tails today! She has really been climbing. The other day, I was cooking and she was playing (banging on) the piano. I decided I needed to check on her and when I looked at her, she was standing on the keys getting ready to climb ON TOP of the piano! Needless to say, she has had a lot of falls this month!

I have also started child training. My fabulous SIL got me the book To Train Up A Child by Mike and Debi Pearl for Christmas and it has been a huge blessing! I have heard a lot of negative things about this book and please know that (if you have heard anything bad about it) I would never do anything to hurt my child. I think that children who aren't disciplined are hurt (in the long run) a lot worse than children who are taught to mind.

The book really helped me to be patient with Trinity. Also, I had no idea that I had developed the awful habit of raising my voice at her. I hate this and always said that I wouldn't do it. And I didn't realize that I had until I read this book and started making an effort to not raise my voice, even when I say "no" to her.

My home has been a lot more peaceful and happy now. I'm still working with Trinity and there is a lot of things that I need to work on too but doing this has helped a ton. Trinity is now learning to pick up after her self and that when I tell her to come to me, I mean come, and that when I say no, I mean no. She still acts up sometimes (usually in public. Ha!) but she is a lot better than what she was.

I still don't know what to do with her in church. She loves to cry during the preaching. Any tips on how to keep her quiet?

Anyways, back to the subject at hand!

Trinity now has 13 teeth!

She still won't say "Mommy".

She is in size 4 shoes.

She is in size 3 diapers.

She wears size 12-18 month clothes.

She takes 1 nap a day and sleeps all night.

She loves chicken nuggets.

Would You Let Your Baby Wear This?

Three posts in one day! Don't you love it? Ha!

Anyways...

I saw this onesie and I was shocked to say the least! Would you let your baby wear this? I mean come on!

As soon as I saw this, I took a picture with my phone and sent it to my friend, Ashlee. Then I decided to take a picture with my real camera so I could show you guys.

I mean, even if it was true that you were...um... under the influence when your baby was conceived, would you want the world knowing? And better yet, would you want your child knowing?

And by the way, this onesie was at Big Lots! Of all places!

Trinity's 15 Month Doctor's Visit

Monday was Trinity's 15 month well baby visit to the doctor. She is such a great baby while waiting! I am so blessed!

She weighed 20.7 lbs. and was 31 inches long! The doctor said that she was in the 20th percentile on weight and in the 75th percentile on height! In other words, she is tall and skinny! I know she takes that after Steven!

She also had to get 3 shots! One in her left leg and one in each arm :( She took it pretty good though! I am glad that she no longer looks at me like I am the one doing it. She knows that it is the nurse giving her the shots! But, some good news! These are her last shots until she starts school! Praise the Lord!

At our doctor's office, they have a billboard with pictures of all the babies that have been born at Fort Logan hospital in the past 2 years. They still have Trinity's picture up and as I passed, I glanced at my tiny newborn and my arms ached to hold her being that little again. It's weird I know. I just want her to go back to that newborn size for like, and hour! Is that too much to ask??? I want to feel her little newborn hands and smell her newborn smell and give her, her little pacifier when she cries. I want to kiss her tiny nose and stare at her sweet little sleeping face. Just for an hour, okay? Please? I guess I'll just have to look at the pictures and just reminisce. *sigh* I'm I CRAZY or what! Am I the only one that feels like this about my baby, err...toddler?

Can you tell that I have "the fever" again?

These are pictures of Trinity in the doctor's office.

This is a picture I took of Trinity the other day. I posted it because she looks so grown up! Just sittin' in that chair like a big girl. I have truly gone off the deep end!

Christmas 2010!

I'm tellin' you, we had a very blessed Christmas! It was so much fun this year! Not stressful. Not busy. Just fun! I loved every minute of it! (I always do. I just love Christmas and I am sad to see that it's over.)

My side of the family's Christmas is always on Christmas Eve. This makes things so much easier because we don't have 2 places to be on Christmas. We had a great time at my parent's house on Christmas Eve. We ate, ate and ate some more and then later that night, we opened gifts.

This is Steven and Trinity opening her gift.

This is my dad with his Kindle that he got. It was a huge surprise!

We slept until about 8:00am on Christmas morning. We woke up, ate some chocolate :), and then Steven read to us the Christmas story out of Luke 2. After that we had prayer and then we started opening gifts! Trinity absolutely loved opening her presents this year. It was so much fun to watch her. She was determined! She would open up a gift and then go for another one. She didn't care what was in the packages, she just wanted to open them!

This was our front yard on Christmas! I am so glad we got a white Christmas!

This was Dottie, Steven, and Trinity waiting on me to stop taking pictures so that Steven could read the Christmas story.

(Please excuse my messy, messy hair!)

Ain't she sweet! It took us forever to open presents because Trinity is just getting the hang of it. She was very particular about where the wrapping paper went after she ripped it off the package. It either had to go into Steven's hands or in the trash. Even small little pieces. She doesn't like to make a mess I guess!

We went to Steven's parent's house around 5:00pm Christmas night. They always have a wonderful meal! There was just too much food to choose from! They absolutely spoiled Trinity this year (and always). Her aunt Andrea got her so much stuff! Including a pair of Twinkle Toe shoes from Sketcher's! I love 'em!

This was one of many toys that her Granny and Grandaddy got her! She loved this baby!

I love this time with family. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad Christmas. I am so thankful for God's blessings on us this year. I told Steven the other night that I feel like our little family of 3 is the most blessed family on earth! It seems like God is always pouring down blessings on us! And then we were blessed with an awesome New Year's revival at church. I know I mentioned it in the last post, but I can't even describe the help I received from that revival! Praise God for His sweet mercy and grace on our family!

I'm Here!

Well, I promise that I have not fallen off the face of the earth! I'm sure that you all (all 3 of you!) were worried about me! Ha! It's been pretty busy around the Jones' house lately. And to beat it all, Steven has decided that TODAY we need to start spring cleaning. So, I am starting with our bed room and I'm going to work my way through the house.

Last night we took down our Christmas tree and that always results in a mess. And now I have to figure out what to do with all those toys Trinity got for Christmas!

We did have Christmas and yes, I did take pictures but I haven't looked at them yet. I know there are hundreds so its going to take me awhile to go through them. We even had to stop opening gifts so that Steven could empty my memory card because it was filled up! So I will post about Christmas soon!

We just came out of a weekend revival and I'm telling you, it was awesome! I got some much needed help and I know that the rest of our church did.

Well, this is a random post, I know. So I guess we'll just get more random here! Anyways, I have made 2 New Year's resolutions. The first is the one that everyone makes. I want to lose some weight. Blah, blah, blah! The second one is, well, let me just say that I have this horrible habit of biting my nails. Eww! I have done it since I can remember and I am ready to quit! So my second resolution is to stop biting my nails. If anyone has any tips on this, please let me know!

So I guess that's all that is on my mind now. I have bored you all long enough!
