A Question About Dying White Chocolate

Hey all my awsome blog readers! I just have a quick question for you guys. Can you dye white melting chocolate?? I have tried and failed. I knew you couldn't use regular food coloring because it makes the chocolate clump up but I thought that I had read somewhere that you could use gel paste dye. I bought some today at Hobby Lobby and tired it tonight and it turned out the same way. Just a big clump.

Surely there is a way! If anyone knows how, please, please let me know! The first one to help me out on this wins a $1,000 gift card! Not really! The first one to help me out gets a HUGE "Thank you" from me! (Which is really a whole lot better than $1,000. Right?!?)

Also, anyone know a good easy recipe for fondant??

Thanks guys! Love you ALL!

  1. First of all I want to say if this posts twice again, I am so sorry......

I don't do any baking. I am horrible in the bakery department. My sister however, is great. She has her own cooking blog with step by step recipes. She would be the one who would know. Check her out.......perfectbutburnt.blogspot.com

  3. Google marshmallow fondant. It's easy and yummy! As for dying white chocolate, I believe you have to use special candy dye. I've bought it in the cake/candy section of Joann's but then never tried it. I always keep a dozen different colours of melting chocolate on hand. I use that stuff for everything.

  4. I thought of something...... I remember making cake pops one day and the recipe said to add lard to the chocolate to keep it from lumping together. You could try that and then the dye maybe.

  5. I'm thinking you would use whatever color candy melts you would need the color to be....

    1. All the candy melts that I have seen are pastel colors. Do they dry darker??

  6. One website says that you can use icing color gel. They recommended Wilton brand. The chocolate might taste different when you add coloring.

  8. I heard a tip for pink (or even other colors maybe), and a little bit of Koolaid. I'd make sure it's sweetened though, and consider the slight flavor change.
